Though of course you can (and should!) watch horror movies all year round, scares and screams are at their peak in Halloween, for obvious reasons. But that’s all about to change as Hulu releases their new original horror event series, Into the Dark, which will have you watching a new and terrifying thriller every month.
Into the Dark was created by the producers behind some of your favorite horror movies: The Purge, Happy Death Day, and Paranormal Activity. Each feature-length episode of the series is a different, standalone twisted tale. And every single one is pegged to a holiday occurring in the month of its release—with the debut episode set on Halloween, naturally. Next up in November is Thanksgiving, and then Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, and so on. So expect to be spooked and fearful all year round, and prepare yourself for gore, graveyards, ghosts, and a giant Furby-like, man-sized creature with glowing red eyes that’s out to get you.
According to a press release, the first episode, “The Body,” follows the story of a professional hitman as he tries to dispose of a corpse on Halloween night—which is perfect because, of course, everyone thinks it’s just a killer costume, both in the literal and figurative sense. But, of course, something goes wrong. According to the teaser photos below, someone in a Cinderella costume gets caught up in the murderous mischief, and maybe there’s kissing in a graveyard! Which seems like a bad idea!!
Into the Dark premieres exclusively on Hulu on October 5, 2018, with the second episode (“Flesh & Blood”) airing on November 2, 2018.
